Josephine's car was a complete piece of shit.
The old Jetta was on it's last limb, and frankly, was a terrible car to be driving in Manhattan. It wan an old rusty sort of red, the back bumper was ready to fall off, and the rust was on stand by, ready to devour whatever piece of shiny paint it could find. Though most of the other seniors were used to her car (After four years, she would hope so), every year she got a few chuckles and snide remarks from rich freshmans.
Stupid rich kids. Sometimes she wondered why she even bother to keep her GPA up. It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to get kicked out of this hell hole and just go to public school like all of her neighbors.
But no, Josephine had to make her mother proud, and if that meant getting dirty looks by some little blonde bimbo with the last name Kennedy then so be it.
She parked her car and slammed the door, reaching in the open window and grabbing her book bag. She always left the windows open, half of her was praying that someone would just steal the Jetta and let it be their burden. She ran a hand through her messy, long brown hair and set off towards The Parthenon. She got a few winks, a few cat calls, and at least that made her smile.
She walked up the front steps and sniffed the air- something was off. She could feel it. This year would be very different from previous ones. The hair on the back of her neck stood up as she watched someone walk by. Her wolf senses were a little prickly this morning, and it was putting her on edge. Gazing out across the large steps in front of the school, she sighed quietly, waiting. For what? She didn't know.
