ROLEPLAY SAMPLE:(this is a narative I wrote for another site)
Kimi sat outside on the fire escape, her legs curled into her as she tried to read the book Taylor had given her for christmas. Tears were flowing down her cheeks, making it hard to see the words on the page. It had been a hard couple of days, and everything was taking its toll.
Feelings had been shared between best friends, best friends that couldn’t truly be together. Kimi would never have her Prince Charming because he was a werewolf. She would never have a romance like the ones she read about in stories. Her story was over, and it had no happy ending. Prince Charming would have his Princess and the romances would stay in the books.
Unable to read anymore, Kimi threw the book down, the ice on the fire escap causing it to slid and fall off the edge. She didn’t care at first. She burried her face in her knees and let the sobs take control on her body. She cried for Taylor because she knew he was hurting. She cried for herself. She just didn’t understand it all. Why would two people so perfect for each other, be kept apart by fate?
After a while, Kimi’s eyes ran dry. She felt empty and numb, but she wasn’t sure if the numb was just from the cold weather. It couldn’t be helping much that she was only out there in a hoodie. With freezing fingers, she pulled herself up into a standing position and walked towards the stairs on the other end. She needed to go get her book. It was a gift from Taylor and on top of that she wasn’t finished. She took the first set of stairs slowly, but picked up her speed just a bit when she didn’t slip. Halfway down the second set, still four floors from the bottom, Kimi’s foot slipped out from under her. She fell over the side of the railing landing on the fire escape two stories down. Her head made a sickening crack as she landed, A broken piece of the railing cutting into her shoulder.
Locke was lounging int her room, writing in her journal. Kimi’s thoughts were close enough that she could hear them. She was worried for her friend, but she felt she shouldn’t disturb her. She needed to cry. Locke kept an eyes on her though, just in case. This was how she heard Kimi’s fantic thoughts as she fell. Locke was moving before she even heard the comotion outside. She was terrified, her best friend’s mind growing fuzzy. She leaned over Kimi when she reached her and gasped when she saw all the blood.
“Kimi! No. Oh my god.” She knew she wouldn’t have time to call Charlie, Kimi was loosing a lot of blood fast. She faught with herself for a split second, trying to see is she had any other option. When she saw she didn’t, she got on her knees, praying she had the strength to do what she needed. “Kimi, you’re not leaving me. You’re not going to die,” she said, her voice cracking. She leaned down and sunk her teeth into Kimi’s neck.
Kimi’s vision blurred and she felt herself drifting. She knew she was probably dying. What a way to go. Falling on a god damn fire escape, she thought. She wasn’t ready to die. Taylor flashed in front of her eyes and she tried to reach for him only to find she couldn’t move. I love you…
A black curtain fell over here. She didn’t knew how long she was under before Locke’s face floated in front of her eyes. She wasn’t sure why she hadn’t died yet, but she was glad she was seeing Locke before she did, even if it was just a delusion.
“Kimi, you’re not leaving me. You’re not going to die,” she heard Locke say. She sounded so sad. It confused her. She didn’t want Locke to be sad. Then she felt something sharp pierce her neck. It hurt… Things weren’t supposed to hurt when you die.
She was suddenly pulled out of the black curtain, a fire beginning to fill her body. She let out a high pitched scream. “Make it stop! Oh my god it burns!” she cried.
Locke pulled back when Kimi screamed, the sound pulling her back from the blood lust. She hated hearing that Kimi was in pain, but it was the only way. She had to move her, people were bound to notice her screams.
“I’m so sorry,” she kept saying as she whisked Kimi out into the woods. She couldn’t keep her in the apartment, the walls were too thin. Kimi continued to cry out, begging Locke to make it stop. The only thing she could do was try to calm her. “You’re going to be fine. I promise,” she kept say. Every scream ripped at Locke’s heart. Finally they made it to the steam a few miles out of town. She layed Kimi down on a rock, bending down next to her and taking her hand. It was the only thign she could do now.
Kimi couldn’t understand why Locke wasn’t making it stop. She screamed and moaned in pain for hours before finally running out of a voice. The flames burned on, but she realized it was useless to scream. She could feel Locke nearby, but she wasn’t sure where.
The flames burned on for what felt like forever. Soon, Kimi felt it dull just a bit, her senses getting stronger. She could hear perfectly the stream moving under the layer of ice, the birds in the trees around her. She could hear Locke’s beathing very close to her. But the flames still burned on.
When she thought it was over, the fire flare up right where her heart was and a scream ripped from her lips. She felt Locke grab her hand, telling her it was almost over. And it was. A few minutes later, the fire left her body. She sat up, looking around her. Her vision was stronger than it had ever been before, all the colors around her enhanced. Her body felt stronger, but a bit odd. She realized there was no heartbeat sounding from her chest. Finally she turned to Locke.
Locke watched as Kimi sat up. She was beautiful. Her already beautiful brown hair fell softly down her back. Her skin was pale white, but it fit her. Her eyes shone bright red, looking brilliant on her. Locke stepped back as Kimi swung her legs over the side of the rock and stood up. The movement looked normal to Locke, but a shocked expression crossed Kimi’s face. Locke couldn’t help but chuckle.
“Am I…” she heard Kimi ask, her voice a beautiful jingle sounding through the trees. Locke nodded.
“It was the only way,” she said. Suddenly Kimi’s arms were around her, squeezing her tight. “Ow,” she laughed. Kimi quickly pulled back. “Sorry,” she said. Locke pictured the blush that would have colored her cheeks.
“Its ok honey,” she reached out her hand. “You just have to be careful. You have to be thirsty. Would you like to hunt with me?” she asked. Kimi nodded, that hungry look suddenly in her eyes. Kimi took Locke’s hand they they look off into the woods together.
