It was the middle of the day and Gabe just felt like skipping out on gym. He hated that class, he just wasn't into sports especially since most of the jocks liked to pick on him. He could defend himself but didn't want to get in trouble for bursting some noses. That was why Gabe was down in the boiler room. It was his usually hangout. A year ago, he found a nice spot away from the noisy pipes . It was still a bit noisy because of the machinery but it was quite enough for him to listen to music and just relax.
He plugged in his ipod to a small stereo, that he usually stuffed into his book bag. The stereo started playing Kings of Leon. He sat down on a crate and opened a small paperback of "The Portrait of Dorian Gray".

I held the boy's hand as I skipped down the stairs. "We'll get caught" he mumbled as his blond hair was swept over his eyes. I rolled my eyes at the notion and held him closer, my feet touching the steps carefully. "Oh, please, they couldn't even care" I whispered to him. My feet hit the bottom steps as he pulled me close to one of the generators. I cupped his face in my hand and slowly started to kiss him.

Gabe was in the middle reading his book when something caught his eye. He paused his ipod and knelt down to peek through some pipes. It was two people making out. Gabe used his hand to suppress a chuckle. Great this was all he needed two horny making out when all Gabe wanted to do was do just read and relax. Though it was sure one hell of a show. He decided to watch for several more seconds. Finally he realized it was just too wrong to keep watching.
He slowly stepped out from behind the pipes. "Well well what do we have here?' He crossed his arms over his chest and leaned on one of the pipes.

"Well well what do we have here?" said a voice behind me. "Shit" I quickly said, pushing...Tom? No, Ryan, off me. I then saw it was that one guy who was in my British Lit. class. "What is a person like you doing in a dank place like this?" I asked, straightening my short skirt. He was always quiet, and tended to say a offending word every once in awhile.

What is a person like you doing in a dank place like this?" He couldn't help but chuckle at her reaction.
"A person like me?! I should be asking you the very same thing, Barbie. This isn't exactly a respectable place. I, myself, am not a respectable person so I don't need to worry about that." He watched from where he was standing, as the two of them straighten out their uniform. He wondered if he waited any longer if the uniform would have remained on at all.

I snarked at him as I saw that Tom ran off. "Well, you certainly know how to scare someone, quiet the gift" I said with a raised eyebrow, as I held my jacket together in front of him. I was used to his snide remarks, and I knew we both weren't getting any younger, but he always had such restiant. I always had sercetly admired him for it....oh well.

Gabe smirked and looked like a jocky jerk. "Yes it is one of my many talents especially when I want to be ALONE." He liked his little lair to be private, though he had to admit this was very entertaining. He took a step away from the pipe he was leaning on.
"Funny how one of the academy's finest is caught down here in the dungeon practical giving herself away. You should show some respect for yourself" He shook his head and acted disappointed. Though he did believe kids his age show be more serious about love and all its consequences.

I bit back my lip as he stepped a little closer. "We ALL have our vices, yours hiding out so know one sees you and mine...well, we know what that is" I said, stuffing my hands into my pockets, leaning agianst the crooked foundation. I had no reputation to uphold in school, it was the one place I could be free, free from my mother and her needy boyfriend and weird daugther, this was my only escape.

He mirrored her motion and stuffed his hands in his pockets as well. He shrugged at her comment about vices. "I would say mine has more to do with biting the time until graduation than a vice. But yours, well it seems like thats what most of the girls here do. Pity I would assume there would be more brains in the girls who go here." He shrugged as he walked up to her. He was enjoying speaking his mind for once. Plus he was surprised she hadn't left yet.

"Pity I would assume there would be more brains in the girls who go here." As soon as he said that, my brain flared. "And what makes you think, I'm not intelligent?" The words flew out of my mouth as I brushed past him, to see what he was hiding. Before he could block me I saw his little area. ""Laughter is not at all a bad beginning for a friendship, and it is far the best ending for one," i mumbled, quote Lord Henry from Dorian Gray. Who is the hell was this guy?

Gabe noticed her anger flaring up. He was preparing himself if she was going to exploded. "And what makes you think, I'm not intelligent?" This one was almost too easy. He smirked when he answered her, but she brushed passed him before he could answer. He snapped around to face her. ""Laughter is not at all a bad beginning for a friendship, and it is far the best ending for one," He paused and was taken off guard. He hadn't expected her to quote directly from the book he was reading. He was dumbfounded for a second before remembering what he was going to tell her. He regained composure and answered her first question. "If girls around here had half a brain they wouldn't be giving themselves up so easily. What do they gain from quickies? A few moments of pleasure doesn't lead to anything. Afterwards they always return to the sadness in which they started from. "

I swiftly turned back to him and leaned agianst one of he pipes. "Then what do you feel...Gabe, yes? I rather slow the pain than feel directly" I said, but then realized what had come from my mouth. "I mean--No...no, Thats not--what--" I tired to say, but got lost in my own words. I had barely known him,but know that he didn't like people, not like I cared, but it felt so strange just to get it all out and off my chest. I hated him...I hated him.

Gabe stared at her for a moment after she tried to cover her tracks. He didn't directly know if his words would of hit a cord in her; he barely knew the girl. "Trying to go around the pain doesn't get rid of it. If you keep avoiding it then you will just one day crack under the pressure of it. Maybe a more healthier way of dealing with it would help you in the long run. But what do i know? Im just the kid hiding down here in the pipes" He walked over to his little sitting area by the pipes and sat down.

I rolled my eyes at this and sighed into the air. "Well, no stopping now" I muttered as I realized my throat was thristy. I nodded over at him. "You got a cigerette?" I asked, gracefully walked over to him. This guy would be a great shrink, but his patients would probably kill him if not assult him in some way.

Gabe nodded and pulled out his pack of cigarettes. He took one for himself for handing her one. Out of the pocket of his jacket, he pulled out his metal zippo and lit his cigarette before holding the flame out for her. He knew how to be a gentleman when he wanted to be. Even though his parents never thought him how to be polite, he learned it on his own. "So whats a girl like you running from?" He didn't know if he was actually going to get an answer from it but he gave it a try.
