Alex sat down at a bar in some dance club that a guy from school had taken her to, but he had vanished off with some girl, not like she cared. She had never even heard of this club before, but she would probably end up dragging a guy home, or be dragged home by, and end up not remembering a single thing the next morning. Alex took a sip of the drink the bartender had given her, and the bitter taste of liquor filled her mouth, but she had gotten used to that by now. She let her eyes scan the club for anyone familar, but didn't see anyone she knew.

Gabe hated clubs. He just didn't find anything entertaining about them. Just a brunch of sweaty horny people grindingup against one another. The reason why he was here, Dion had told him that Alex would be here. Gabe had started hearing some not so good rumors about Alex and he wanted to talk to her and see if she was okay. He couldn't understand why he was always looking out for the girl. Oh wait he knew, he just couldn't stand back and not look out for her. It was like this inner mission of his. It was totally unexplainable and all that Gabe knew or care about was making sure she was alright. Gabe entered in deeper to enemy terrtory. The club was packed which didn't make it any better. He scanned the club the best that he could for her.

Alex was scanning the club with her eyes, and she smirked when Gabriel Danvers caught her eye. He was like a brother to her, but, then again, she already had a brother, and did that work out? She got up off her stool and walked over to him, now smiling. "Hey Gabe!" Alex said, wrapping her arms around his neck in a hug for a moment then stepping back. It was good to see him after her little, um, change. Dying and coming back to life had really changed her. And she knew it, too.

Gabe stood in the middle of the dancefloor surrounded by people. It wasn't exactly the best place for him to be in. "Hey Gabe!" He turned around to see Alex there. He was so relieved that he didn't have to keep searching for her. They hugged, he hugged her a little bit tighter than usual. "Hey! I've been looking for you. Dion said you would be here." He had to speak louder than usual since the music was blasting. "Could we go somewhere and ....i don't know talk?" He looked around knowing it would be hard to find a quiet place in here. It was so loud.

"Hey! I've been looking for you. Dion said you would be here."
Alex giggled. "Well, you found me!" She said, then laughed a little. I think that drink's starting to get to me.... She thought, shaking her head and looking back to Gabe.
"Could we go somewhere and ....i don't know talk?"
Alex nodded with a smile and took his hand, then lead him out the back door, the music becoming muffled, so it was more quiet. It wasn't very big out back, but it was good enough. It had trash cans with bent lids and smoke coming from the loitering cans on the sidewalk. Just Alex's inviorment. "So, what'd you need to talk to me about?" Alex said, leaning on a brick wall and taking out a cigarette, handing one to Gabe, and putting her finger to the end of the butt, and using her power, lit it. She knew Gabe knew about her, so it was fine that she was using magic around him.

Gabe followed Alex out the back door of the club. The music was muffled by the door which he was thankful for since it was starting to give him a headache. The back alley seem more like his type of place. It was small and dirty but it was also quiet and peaceful.
"So, what'd you need to talk to me about?" Gabe lean against the brick wall of the club and watched her. He shook his head as she lit up a cigarette with her finger. Something that he still wasn't use to.
"How are you doing?" That's all that he wanted to know. He didn't want to preach at her and make her feel like she was twelve. He just wanted to know if she was alright.

"How are you doing?"
Alex shrugged. "Im ok.. I guess. Just, going through some stuff." She said, avoiding his gaze. She was still broken from the news about her brother dying, and she really didn't feel like keeping her feelings locked up anymore.

Gabe noticed her looking away from him. She wasn't telling him everything. He ducked down to try and get her to look at him. "Hey come on talk to me. " Gabe took a step closer to her and touch her shoulder. He gave her a smile as he waited to see if she would open up and talk to him.

"Hey come on talk to me. "
Alex looked down at his hand on her shoulder and her eyes almost formed tears. She looked up at him and tried her best to smile, but that didn't really work out. Alex sighed and ran a hand through her hair. "B-Ben, my brother... he.. he died a couple of days ago. A-and i've sort of been, taking out my emotions by... sleeping with guys." She said, mumbling that last part and looking down. It wasn't an easy thing to admitt, especially to Gabe. He was like a brother to her, so it was a little awkward for her to be telling him that.

"oh shit.." Gabe didn't know. He didn't know that her brother had just died and only days ago. He didn't care about the last part. His heart was breaking to see Alex like this. Gabe wrapepd his arms protectively around Alex and held her close. He kissed the top of her hair as he thought he heard her begin to cry though he wasn't sure if she did. "Im so sorry I didn't know" Gabe told her. He would have gone out ot look for her sooner if he would have known. "Is there anything I can do?" He wasn't sure how he should act she he just continued to hold her.

Alex started crying when Gabe hugged her. She just couldn't hold in the tears anymore. She hadn't let herself cry eversince her breakdown on the dock, the day he'd died. Gabriel was the closest thing she had to a brother now, but that was fine with her.
"Im so sorry I didn't know" "Is there anything I can do?"
Alex didn't look up, she just kept her eyes shut and she kept hugging Gabe. She shook her head no, then wiped away a tear, while still hugging him. Alex just stood there, crying into Gabriel, and she couldn't stop thinking about Ben.

The two of them were silent for so long. Gabe just held Alex closer as he allowed her to cry on him. Most of the time, Gabe was fine with silence but this one was totally different; there was so much emotion that hung in it. Gabe rubbed Alex's back and rested his head over hers. He listened to her crying.
As her cries became softer, he kissed the top of her head again and moved his hand under her chin so that he could lifted her head to that he could look at her. He didn't say anything just wiped away some of her tears. He gave her a small comforting smile.

Alex looked up at Gabriel, and jerked her head to the side slightly to move the hairs out of her face. She looked at him for a little bit longer, then she looked down to her shoes.
Alex looked back up at Gabe and smiled just a little. "Um, th-thanks. For the talk, I mean." She said, wiping a tear off her cheek and crossing her arms over her chest to warm her up.
Stupid me, I forgot a coat. Alex thought, glancing around the back of the club, a little freaked at the voices and footsteps. "Uhum... Gabe? I-I had a bit of an accident a few days back with a guy, and, im not really comfortable walking home alone. C-could you walk me home?" Alex asked, a little nervous. It was like she was going back to her old self or something. It felt a little weird.

"Um, th-thanks. For the talk, I mean." Gabe figured it wasn't exactly the talk he expected but he was he kind of chat where words weren't needed. He smiled. "No problem." He was going to rub the top of her head but he figured she was getting too old for that. "Uhum... Gabe? I-I had a bit of an accident a few days back with a guy, and, im not really comfortable walking home alone. C-could you walk me home?" "Someone tried to hurt you,Alex? " He looked so concerned. He moved a piece of her hair behind her ear. "Sure Alex I'll get you home" He smiled and took off his leather jacket and put it around her. He put his arm around her and lead her out of the alley.

"Someone tried to hurt you,Alex? "
Alex nodded. "Tried, and succeded. But, im fine now." She said, then looked down for a moment. She cleared her throat. "He's, uh, taken care of."
"Sure Alex I'll get you home"
Alex smiled at him as he put his coat around her shoulders, and walked with him out of the alley. They walked all the way to Mr. Demonte's apartment, well, it was hers now too I guess, but, still, and Alex got out her key and opened the door. "You can make yourself comfortable, my foster dad's out of the house." She said, tossing her keys on the marble counter.
